Title
Strong house with sycamore trees
Description
Strong House on Amity Street is located next to the public library. It was built in 1744 and is considered one of the oldest existing homes in Amherst, MA. It is now the home of the Amherst Historical Society which purchased the property in 1916. Tall, "bride-and-groom", sycamore trees flank the front door. One of the trees was removed in the 1950s.
