Description

This is the original South College building and was used as a dormitory in the early years of Massachusetts Agricultural College. Built in 1867, it was gutted by fire in the winter of 1885 and rebuilt, using some of the walls of the original building which had not burned. A group of students stands on the steps outside one of the doors.
